Curragh brings a new partner to Life Education
Healthy Harold from Life Education Queensland can continue his journey educating young students around Central Queensland in a brand new set of wheels thanks to Wesfarmers Curragh and Shell.
Life Education is a health promotion charity and Australia’s major non-government provider of health education to children. In Central Queensland, it works in partnership with schools across Central Queensland to teach children the skills and knowledge to live a safe and healthy life.
The new vehicle is made possible by a $20,000 donation by Shell to Life Education Queensland, the State’s largest non-government drug and health education program. The donation has been made possible due to the partnership between Wesfarmers Curragh and their major fuel supplier Shell.
Life Education Queensland CEO Michael Fawsitt congratulated Shell and Wesfarmers Curragh for their commitment to the health and wellbeing of children in the region. “Our educator travels large distances to bring the Life Education program to schools throughout Central Queensland, so this is an important contribution to ensuring that children continue to access vital drug and health education.”
The donation has allowed Life Education to purchase a new vehicle that will be used by Life Education Queensland’s educator in Rockhampton to run the school programs in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Blackwater, Emerald and Moranbah.
“Shell and Wesfarmers Curragh are always looking for better ways to work together and deepen our relationship. This opportunity is a great example of Shell investing in collaborative partnerships with our customers, through supporting the communities in which they operate,” said Nikki Gerling, Shell Business Manager, Commercial Sales & Marketing.
Wesfarmers Curragh General Manager Craig McCabe said the company was extremely pleased that Shell has agreed to support Life Education in Central Queensland.
“Providing additional support to Life Education through our business partnership with Shell is something we are very proud of. It shows that we are not only capable of working together in a business sense but also able to work together to support our local communities,” Mr McCabe said.
